About Us

  1. January 2002 Steve Mowry founded S. M. Audio Engineering in Puthamonthon, Bangkok, Thailand.
  2. January 2003 presented a paper on finite-element modeling of audio transducers, “Transducer Design Using 2D FEA & BEM”, at the American Loudspeaker Manufacturers and Acoustics, ALMA Winter Symposium in Las Vegas, USA.
  3. January 2004 presented a paper on concurrent engineering and conducted a first time ever, two-day training seminar to twenty-four engineers/technicians at the ALMA International Winter Symposium in Las Vegas, USA. Participants from JBL, US Pioneer, Acom Panasonic, Polk Audio, Harman-Becker, Klipsch, Eminence, NCA Labs and several other loudspeaker related companies were in attendance.
  4. July 2004 published “Concurrent Product Development” in Multimedia Manufacturer magazine.
  5. July 2004 presented a “Electrodynamic Transducer Large Signal Parameter Simulation And Identification” at the Audio Engineering Society, AES International sponsored conference at Pro Audio Light Asia, PALA in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  6. August 2004 published “Beta and Electromagnetic Transduction” in Voice Coil magazine.
  7. September 2004 published “Why China Reigns As A/V Capital” in Multimedia Manufacturer magazine.
  8. October-November 2004 published “The Underhung Voice-Coil Motor Assembly Revisited In The Large Signal Domain” (2 parts) in Voice Coil magazine.
  9. November 2004 published “PALA & AES Seminar” in Multimedia Manufacturer magazine.
  10. December 2004 published “A Small Magnetically Shielded Motor Assembly Design Example” in Voice Coil magazine.
  11. January 2005 saw the publication of “An Interview with Neville Thiele” in Voice Coil magazine.
  12. May 2005 published “Chips Ahoy” in Multimedia Manufacturer magazine.
  13. June 2005 conducted a one-half day transducer design seminar in Beijing, China at China Audio Light Music (CALM).
  14. June – July 2005 published “Models for the Transducer Designer” (2 parts) in Voice Coil Magazine.
  15. July 2005 presented “Developments in Pro Loudspeakers and Sound Reinforcement Systems” at the AES Singapore Section sponsored PALA conference and conducted a full day Concurrent Product Development seminar at PALA in Singapore.
  16. August 2005 published “Metal, Ceramic & Foam Composite Cones” in Voice Coil magazine.
  17. November 2005 published “We Visit PALA 2005” in Multimedia Manufacturer magazine.
